Decorate a Cheeky Monster pumpkin!

What you will need:

• A medium-sized pumpkin
• Blue acrylic paint
• Old newspaper or an old table cloth
• A sponge brush
• A thin paint brush
• Clear PVA glue
• Colourful foam, felt or card
• Scissors
• Mini cocktail sticks
• Masking tape
• A grown-up helper

What to do:

1. Start by putting the old newspaper or old table cloth over the table so it doesn’t get all messy and covered in paint!
2. Take your sponge brush and blue acrylic paint, and paint your entire pumpkin blue. You can ask your grown-up to help.
3. Once painted, put your pumpkin carefully to one side on top of another sheet of newspaper to let it dry.
4. While the pumpkin is drying, ask your grown-up to help you with cutting out the next part. You will need: Two eyes and some teeth cut from the white foam or felt, a green tongue, some blue ears, blue hair, and some light blue circles.
5. Once the pumpkin has dried (this takes around 20 to 30 minutes), carefully stick your eyes onto the pumpkin using the PVA glue and draw two black dots on them for pupils.
6. Then use the PVA glue to stick your light blue circles around the pumpkin.
7. Using a thin paint brush and acrylic paint– we suggest using dark blue or black – and add a smile and a nose to the pumpkin; you can add any other details you wish, like eyebrows.
8. Next, stick the teeth and the green tongue on.
9. With your grown-up helping you, attach the ears and hair that you have cut onto the cocktail sticks using masking tape.
10. Then, to finish, carefully push the cocktail sticks into the pumpkin – giving your pumpkin Rocky ears and hair.
